Yesterday I posted a video announcing my “next big project,” and while most people watched and showered me with congrats, I totally understand that there was a lot of vagueness. So I’m here to answer all your questions!
Look! A baby!
This is my second sonogram, taken at 7.5 weeks.
The baby is the little dinosaur-looking guy/gal in the oblong black circle. The line at the bottom is the sac. It goes all around the baby but only partially showed up in this snap shot. The baby is upside-down here. Their rump is at the top, and the darker round part is the head. 🙂
It’s about the size of a blueberry.
WHEN ARE YOU DUE??
Our official due date is January 8th, but its entirely possible that we’ll have a New Years baby or even a Christmas baby!
Why have I had two sonograms before I’m even 8 weeks pregnant?
Between endometriosis and PCOS, getting pregnant was not an easy journey. And we knew it would be long and hard. We started trying two years ago.
What is PCOS? It means that while I get a period, my eggs don’t always show up to the party. I had to take medicine to encourage the eggs to come on out.
We went through two oral medications (Clomid and Letrozol) and went on and off of at home injections to trigger ovulation at an exact time.
It was costing us around the price of a Disney vacation each month to keep trying.
When emotional anguish and financial strain was becoming too much to handle, we decided to just go ahead and try IUI. That’s what ended up working for us!
I’ve felt pretty much NO endo pain since I’ve been pregnant, and that is such a relief. It really does do wonders.
I had awful morning sickness for a while but I feel much better now, I’m learning what my new tastes are. The stereotype about pregnant women loving pickles is true.
BOY OR GIRL???
We’ll all be finding out whenever they decide to pop into the world.
Thanks for all the congratulations everyone! It’s a really exciting time for us. I’ll go back to my “regular” posts about invisible illness for the most part, but you can expect some baby updates along the way. 🙂
