Kicking it up a Notch

Do you guys know that just by commenting here you could win a totally free and awesome Do I Look Sick button? Because so far I only have five entries! Well. That will never do.

Since I just got a promotion, AND another blog award, I felt like we need to up the ante here. If you leave a comment on the Readership Award Post, you’ll still be entered into a free drawing to win a Do I Look Sick button. BUT, if you SHARE the post and tell people to enter the drawing, I’ll enter you into ANOTHER drawing to win a totally awesome pill box from The Allergista!!!

She was sweet enough to send me two, and I am SO in love with them. They’re conveniently divided up into three sections, which I use to divi up my breakfast, lunch, and dinner pills! But it’d also be great for traveling, or for storing emergency pills. Added bonus – you don’t have to go to the pharmacy and look through all those packages with old people on them and feel like a looser! This is a trendy pillbox for young people who are cool and totally NOT decrepit. PILLS ARE COOL, MAN.

So now that you’re all coveting my beautiful prize, how do you get it? Just SHARE the Readership Post, and comment here with a link to your status/tweet/reddit/pinterest/WHATEVER you choose to share with, and you’ll be entered in to the EXCLUSIVE SURPRISE ALLERGISTA DRAWING!

But I still think you readers deserve more hugs and love, SO: if I get 20 entries (AKA comments on the Readership Post) I will draw another name from the pot, and they’ll get to choose ANYTHING they want from the Official Do I Look Sick Store!

So, better get sharing!

Now, remember how I said that part of the reason I’m feeling so happy and generous is that I was nominated for another award?

A huge thanks to Tersia Burger for nominating me for The Most Influential Blogger Award!

It’s not lost on me that I have been given this award by a very, very influential blogger. I’m honored.

Rules:

Display award – check!

Link to the person who nominated you – check!

Answer seven questions – my favorite part!

If you could create your own planet, what would it be like? Probably a lot like earth….it’s not perfect, but when I think “Oh, I’ll take away illness!” I think “Then the people won’t appreciate health…” and this leads me to think that I should just leave it up to God.

If you could visit one country that you’ve never been to, what would you choose? Old country – I’d like to visit Prague and you know, dig up my roots and see what I’m made of.

Have you ever taken a long distance train trip? No. THANKS FOR REMINDING ME. 😦

What is something you would collectively change about humanity? The stigma of illness – I want people to be able to talk about their illnesses without fear of judgement or disbelief. Then people could find the help they need, from doctors, HR departments, and everything in between.

What is your favorite song? I don’t think I have one, but there’s never a time I don’t feel like listening to Viva La Vida….or almost any Coldplay song….

If you could meet any person living today, who would you want to meet? My first thought was JK Rowling, but then my mind wandered for a while and settled on Christopher Walken. Because…..he’s Christopher Walken.

If you chose one symbol to represent you, what would it be and why? I’m going to stick to my high school choice – two crossed flags, with a princess crown on top. I may not dance as much anymore, but I’ll never stop being the Colorguard Princess. That is who I am deep in my bones, I think.

and finally, nominate other influential bloggers!

My Nominees:

Lip Reading Mom (did you see our interview with her? She’s awesome!)

Our 1000 Days (Yup, again Sarah! But you’re my blogging hero, so you know.)

Lethargic Smiles

A Tale of Anaphylaxis (talk about influential – she’s changing her school for the better!)

Check these guys out and don’t forget about that drawing and giveaway!!!

About rachelmeeks

My name is Rachel Meeks. I have endometriosis, an incurable pain condition, IBS, a digestive illness, and PCOS, which causes irregular periods and infertility. After keeping my illnesses a secret, I started to get upset about how my fellow sick people were being mistreated because of ignorance. I knew that I'd need to stand up, make some noise, wear my heart on my sleeve, and admit that I am not well to make a difference.

Another great post – & love the Christopher Walken animation. I don’t know how people do that!!

    • That’s one of my favorites! It’s very easy, you just find gifs and they go in to posts as easy as a regular image. I usually search tumblr for gifs, but google works too. 🙂
