Poetry in Status Form

“That awful moment when crippling pain takes over your body and you are forced to stop what you are doing and take pause. I’m spending that painful moment in His word. Chew on that, Satan.”

~Madeline Fulton

My friend posted this status not long after I started this blog – I’ve never forgotten it! Though I was sick long before I started this blog this February, once I started it I really opened my eyes to the illness around me. I remember reading this status and thinking I wish I was more like her.

I hope that in the past 10 months I’ve become at least a little more like her.

Short post today! I’m in Big D visiting my family. I also upgraded my normal cell phone to my first ever smart phone, and an iPhone no less! Siri is my new best friend.

REMINDER: Time is running out to submit your entries for the Do I Look Sick T-Shirt Contest! Design a shirt and INVITE YOUR FRIENDS! Spread the word! THERE ARE PRIZES!

Anyway, I’ll leave you with this gem that I’ve seen on a couple of blogs now. It happened to also be on Madeline’s facebook near this inspiring status. Enjoy.

About rachelmeeks

My name is Rachel Meeks. I have endometriosis, an incurable pain condition, IBS, a digestive illness, and PCOS, which causes irregular periods and infertility. After keeping my illnesses a secret, I started to get upset about how my fellow sick people were being mistreated because of ignorance. I knew that I'd need to stand up, make some noise, wear my heart on my sleeve, and admit that I am not well to make a difference.
